With this in mind, it's time to take a look by conference and see where everyone is at with regards to their Playoff Points. All of this will help set up my third mock Death to the BCS Playoffs bracket later today.
For comparison's sake, you can view last week's rankings here. For a refresher on how these metrics work, you can check back at my season preview post.

Despite almost half of the ACC not playing this week, they hold onto the lead in average wins nationally, though they've dropped from the top of other rankings and find themselves slipping elsewhere, while the SEC now leads in every Playoff Points category. Meanwhile, we're seeing the independents collectively being not very good, their inflated PP2 notwithstanding.
Trying to get a ranking on individual schools, Alabama is far and away our leader in PP1 with a whopping 34 points. Michigan and Clemson are tied for second with 28 points, Western Michigan has crept up to fourth with 27, and Boise State rounds out the top five with 25 points. As far as PP2, Alabama also leads that category with 13.75 points. Tennessee is in the mix with 13 points, Penn State is sitting in third at 12.6 points, Michigan has 11.71, and Clemson has 11.29. Our PP1 leaders also head up the aPP rankings, with Tennessee as the highest team with a loss sitting with 23 points. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Buffalo out of the MAC has the lowest aPP at -27 points.
Penn State jumped in the PP2 rankings and is up there in some of the other rankings thanks to their win over Ohio State this weekend, though they remain banned from postseason play. However, they will still have their numbers taken into account as I go back to the lab this morning. I'm going to pore over these results as well as the latest computer rankings, and I will be back this afternoon with an updated mock bracket for the Death to the BCS Playoffs.
