2015 NCAA Playoff Points: Week 11

We're getting down towards the end of the regular season here, and every game is becoming more and more critical. This should be the case in every conference on a national scale though, but the corrupt powers that be are still being elitists. That won't stop me from a look around the country again today.

We're down another undefeated team to just five remaining after 11 weeks of action. Last week's dropoff was bigger, but several one loss teams lost a second game this week as well, which will have implications that I will get into later.

For now, I'm focusing in on results, and how it impacts the Playoff Points race. I'll have an updated look by conference after the jump, and after that conference look, I'll update the leaders across the country. If you need a refresher on how Playoff Points work, you can refer back to my Week 1 post.

If you want to see exact numbers for each team and conference, you can view my spreadsheet here. The biggest change in terms of these rankings is that the SEC is now in first in all these categories, while the Pac-12, independents and Big Ten are splitting the second, third and fourth place spots. Otherwise, there were just a few minor changes here and there on the conference level.

In terms of individual schools, Alabama jumped Clemson for the top score in First Degree Playoff Points with 54, while the Tigers are still pretty close with 52. Notre Dame and Ohio State are tied for third with 45 points, while Michigan State is right behind them with 44. Florida has 42 points to close out the teams with at least 40 points through 11 weeks. On the Second Degree front, the Crimson Tide lead there as well with 23.67 points. LSU is next with 20.86 points, USC is in third with 20.57, and in kind of a funny showing with this stat, Wyoming is in fourth with 20 points, though they have just a single win to receive that mark.

Now comes the difficult, but fun part. I'm going to go take a look at the numbers, both mine and the computers', and this afternoon I will have my third mock bracket for the Death to the BCS Playoffs all set to go.
