2024 COAS Pigskin Pick 'Em: Week 17 (Part 1)

We're briefly working the holiday... at least long enough to cover the holiday as the coalition comes down to the end of the 2024 season!

The good news last week is I got myself back into the column contest and Adam regressed to the mean. Joe and I each took three of four from him while we split our four disputed games. That cuts Adam's lead to me down to just a single game with 32 to play.

You can view how we've all picked in relation to each other here. Overall group wise, it's pretty much a two-man race at this point as Jim and Geoffrey are five games up on Adam at this point.

You'll notice the title says this is a Part 1. With games on Christmas day, and Christmas falling in the middle of the week, we're grabbing the early games on the schedule and will follow up later this week with the rest.

For Part 1, Adam and I disagree on one, Joe and I on two, and the two of them on one gamee out of the first three on the Week 17 docket. From all of us at Confessions of a Sportscaster, have a Merry Christmas! Let's get to the picks.

Wednesday, Early Afternoon

Kansas City Chiefs @ Pittsburgh Steelers (+2.5)
Lucas: Steelers. Look, I'm somewhat staunchly against the NFL playing games here just because it proves my whole "The NFL doesn't give a [expletive] about player safety" point, but that said... they chose a good one for this slate. I'm gonna hope here that the BS is real.
Adam: Chiefs. Because we cannot have nice things sometimes on Christmas lol. No, Kansas City overall is the better team and will squeeze out another one score game.
Joe: Chiefs.

Wednesday, Late Afternoon

Baltimore Ravens @ Houston Texans (+5.5)
Lucas: Texans. I think Baltimore wins, but Houston will probably make it a game with seeding on the line.
Adam: Texans. At home on Christmas for Tank. Seems like the spot for at least a cover if not a straight win.
Joe: Ravens.

Thursday Night

Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears (+3.5)
Lucas: Seahawks. Everyone around here is clamoring for Ben Johnson, especially after the clinic he put on when Detroit was in town this past week. Which inevitably means the Bears will find some reason not to hire him and restart the cycle.
Adam: Seahawks. Because why even bother as a Bears fan anymore. They need to shut down Caleb for the year and give some 2nd/3rd stringers some playing time.
Joe: Seahawks.

Records So Far
Lucas: 125-115 (9-7 last week)
Adam: 126-114 (7-9 last week)
Joe: 122-118 (9-7 last week)
Geoffrey: 131-109 (11-5 last week)
Jim: 131-109 (12-4 last week)
John: 124-116 (9-7 last week)
Matthew: 118-122 (11-5 last week)
