2024 COAS Pigskin Pick 'Em: Week 15

We're coming down to the home stretch with just four weeks remaining. The race for this year's crown remains tight.

Up until Monday night I was tied for first place, but fell in the final game of Week 14. That also meant that Adam took four of five disputed games from me in a tremendous rebound effort and three of five from Joe; Joe took three of four from me as I stumbled a little bit.

Despite that, as noted I remain just a game off the lead currently held by Geoffrey. Jim and Adam both remain within striking distance, just three and four games off the pace, respectively. All told, 11 games separate first from last place.

You can view how we've all picked in relation to each other here. Adam and Matthew each hit on their sixth successful hero pick this past week; that leads all pickers, though I remain perfect in my small sample size. Geoffrey's lead continues to be buoyed by his strong showing in 4-3 split games.

With all byes officially completed, we've got 16 game slates the rest of the way. This week, Adam and I disagree on six games, Joe and I on seven, and the two of them on five. Let's get to it!

Thursday Night

Los Angeles Rams @ San Francisco 49ers (-2.5)
Lucas: Rams. Seems pretty straightforward; the Niners are still injured to hell, the Rams are playing pretty well and threatening for the NFC West crown. Taking the dog straight up.
Adam: Rams. Seems like an off line. I get that the Niners beat up on my Bears, but the Rams are hot right now; they hung 45 last week on the Bills in an absolute fantasy goldmine. I don’t see quite that fantasy performance, but I like the Rams straight to get me those extra points.
Joe: Rams.

Sunday, Early Afternoon

Kansas City Chiefs @ Cleveland Browns (+5.5)
Lucas: Browns. We need you, Jameis.

Adam: Chiefs. KC has failed to cover the spread when favored in eight games this year and have won all eight. And apparently no team has won that many games without covering and still made the Super Bowl. But let's just be honest: KC is just luckyrooski...
Joe: Chiefs.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Tennessee Titans (+4.5)
Lucas: Bengals. I apologize to Cincy's defense for my libel last week. Though I'm sure having to face Cooper Rush certainly helped.
Adam: Bengals. This line seems way off, but it is a road game for the Bengals, and they are playing much better than the Titans right now.
Joe: Bengals.

Washington Commanders @ New Orleans Saints (+7.5)
Lucas: Commanders. Feeling like the bye week will help Washington continue to get back on track.
Adam: Saints. This is a pure line pick. It’s a home game for the Saints, and Washington has “cooled” off since the early season. That half point over 7 is what gives me pause.
Joe: Commanders.

Baltimore Ravens @ New York Giants (+14.5)
Lucas: Ravens. Sorry, Giants.

Adam: Ravens. It will be a blood bath. Next.
Joe: Ravens.

Dallas Cowboys @ Carolina Panthers (-1.5)
Lucas: Panthers. I'm sorry, when you lose following you blocking a punt...

Adam: Panthers. Not sure what is more sad: that the Panthers are favored here, or how the way that the Broken Bovine Brigade found to lose last week for Jerra.
Lucas note: I like "Broken Bovine Brigade."
Joe: Cowboys.

New York Jets @ Jacksonville Jaguars (+3.5)
Lucas: Jaguars. I shouldn't laugh, but there would just be something kind of funny if Mac Jones beat Aaron Rodgers, even though the Jets now have nothing to play for.
Adam: Jets. The sadness tour continues for the fall of A A Ron. Let them win I say, just to crush them later.
Joe: Jets.

Miami Dolphins @ Houston Texans (-2.5)
Lucas: Dolphins. Given that this game is indoors, Houston just seems... kinda there, while Miami has played fairly well, I'll take the points.
Adam: Texans. With the late bye, I think that helps Houston this week and on into the end of the season/playoffs. This could rise to a shootout, but I still like the Texans by at least a field goal.
Joe: Texans.

Sunday, Late Afternoon

Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos (-4.5)
Lucas: Broncos. I trust Denver more. At home, it seems like an obvious pick.
Adam: Broncos. I like the line and I like Bo and team to continue their exciting, quality football.
Joe: Broncos.

Buffalo Bills @ Detroit Lions (-1.5)
Lucas: Lions. I'd probably go the other way if this game were in Buffalo, but I also don't trust a Bills defense that just got lit on fire.
Adam: Lions. A Super Bowl preview perhaps? Detroit has a great overall offense, and I don’t see the Bills stopping that. On Buffalo's side, Allen went berserr on the Rams for over 50 fantasy points IN A LOSS! But I just don’t see that happening again. Dare I say, Lions cover easily?
Joe: Lions.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Philadelphia Eagles (-5.5)
Lucas: Steelers. They are inevitable.
Adam: Eagles. Not much here other than Saquon will be a beast, except maybe around the 1 yard line.

Joe: Eagles.

New England Patriots @ Arizona Cardinals (-6.5)
Lucas: Cardinals. Continuing solidarity picks with Cardinals playing against teams from Massachusetts. Beat Springfield.
Adam: Cardinals. Seems like a theme in some of these, but I like the home team here. New England isn’t good and Arizona is still playing for more than just a playoff spot, even if their odds are slim.
Joe: Patriots.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5)
Lucas: Chargers. Tampa's falling apart, and the Chargers just played well once again. I think they bounce back following the heartbreaker in KC.
Adam: Buccaneers. I could go either way here; it’s the half point for me again. I’ll take the +3.5 for Tampa and hope it doesn’t turn into a blowout.
Joe: Chargers.

Sunday Night

Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks (+2.5)
Lucas: Packers. I'm not going to overreact to losing on a last second field goal at Detroit. I almost overreacted to having to play in Seattle because I hate this place. [expletive] Lance Easley, Golden Tate, Pete Carroll, and Lance Easley and Golden Tate a second time. Give me Toyotathon.
Adam: Packers. This will be a good game to watch. I haven’t seen much of either team to have a strong opinion either way; I just know what Green Bay can do and would rather lay 2.5 than only get 2.5.
Joe: Packers.

Monday Night

Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings (-6.5)
Lucas: Bears. Even though I walked further on the sidelines of Matthew's basketball game this past Saturday than the Bears' offense moved the ball in the first half in Santa Clara this past weekend.
Adam: Bears. Chicago played Minnesota tight the last time they played; took them to overtime after an absolutely fantastic comeback. So I think it may be another tight NFC North matchup. Vikings win, but the Bears keep it close.
Joe: Vikings.

Atlanta Falcons @ Las Vegas Raiders (+4.5)
Lucas: Falcons. Sorry, Desmond Ridder, no revenge game for you this week.
Adam: Falcons. Cousins has to have a good game at some point right...? RIGHT? The Raiders are bad... BAD. So the Falcons have to take advantage... VANTAGE. Oh no... NO... Why is there an echo...? ECHO...
Lucas note: Sorry for the crappy audio quality, but this was the first thing I thought of.

Joe: Falcons.
