2021 NCAA NCSS Rankings: Week 11

While I'm back at Merner Fieldhouse tonight straining my vocal cords some more, MACtion will be back in full swing, so it's time to take a look at the upcoming slate of college football action.

I did have a revision that I needed to make to last week's rankings, not knowing what was going on. I missed that the Wake Forest-North Carolina game was technically being considered a non-conference tilt. As such, the Week 10 numbers have been updated giving Wake and UNC both some additional NCSS points. That updated number will be reflected in this week's set of rankings.

So without further ado, let's get to it!

  1. MAC (0.00, 5.75. LW: 1). No non-conference games this week.
  2. Mountain West (0.00, 5.50. LW: 2). No non-conference games this week.
  3. Conference USA (0.00, 5.21. LW: 3). No non-conference games this week.
  4. American Athletic (0.00, 4.73. LW: 4). No non-conference games this week.
  5. Sun Belt (0.00, 4.30. LW: 5). No non-conference games this week.
  6. Big Ten (0.00, 3.57. LW: 6). No non-conference games this week.
  7. ACC (0.14, 3.50. LW: 7). Clemson hosts Connecticut, and Virginia hosts Notre Dame.
  8. SEC (0.00, 3.07. LW: 8). Alabama hosts New Mexico State, Florida hosts FCS Samford.
  9. Pac-12 (0.00, 2.83. LW: 9). No non-conference games this week..
  10. Big XII (0.00, 2.80. LW: 10). No non-conference games this week.

I'm debating if I should call this "Dan Mullen is a Coward Week," but there weren't many FCS games. Still, it's a shame to see this this late in the season, hence the many years mocking everyone who pulled it (in particular Alabama, though they got their FCS game in early this year). Though regardless, if I'm taking shots at Dan Mullen, I also need to at Jeff Monken at Army (playing Bucknell this weekend) and retroactively at the just-fired Walt Bell at UMass, especially with the Minutemen playing their second straight FCS opponent (Maine, after losing to Rhode Island last week). This officially means the Minutemen are ineligible for the Death to the BCS Playoffs... um, not that a 1-8 team was making it, but still.

MACtion kicks back off tonight with three games, followed by three tomorrow. I'll be back after the weekend with a look at the numbers from this week!
