2022 COAS Pigskin Pick 'Em: Week 8

The coalition is back at it once again as the calendar is about to flip to November and we start to approach the halfway point of the 2022 season!

This was a much better week on the whole for the coalition, partially because we hit on four of our five consensus picks for the week, and most of us did enough with the rest of the slate to put up respectable numbers. You can view how we've all picked in relation to each other for the season here, though it took me three or four tries to get these numbers right when I was updating following Week 7. Seems in line with our consensus numbers for the year to date, as the strong outing we all had could only do so much on that front.

Column-wise, I took three of four from Adam last week and split my four disputed with Joe, while Joe swept his two disputed games with Adam. I did just enough to stay in first place among the group, but only barely. I'm also including Adam's updated sheet with how we've picked home/road favorite/underdog games, as well as our daypart splits.

As we look ahead at the final October games on the schedule, Adam and I disagree on six games out of 15, Joe and I on four, and Joe and Adam on four. Let's get to it!

2022 COAS Pigskin Pick 'Em: Week 7

The coalition returns as we are, week-wise anyway, a third of the way through the NFL season.

In our first week of byes it was a rough go for most of the group. Despite that, I took three of five disputed games from Adam to build on my lead, while taking three of four from Joe, and Adam took two of three from Joe.

The group is still largely sandwiched together, but we're all well under .500 thanks largely to a 7-17 mark in consensus games. We are a combined 21-12 in hero picks through seven weeks, though no one's really been able to pull away yet thanks to that. You can view how we've all picked in relation to each other here. Adam's sheet with a breakdown of picks based on home/road favorites/underdogs, as well as a breakdown by game time, can be found here.

Going into Week 7, Adam and I disagree on four games out of 14, Joe and I on four, and Joe and Adam on two. Let's get to it!

2022 COAS Pigskin Pick 'Em: Week 6

The coalition is back at it for Week 6 of the NFL season!

By and large, we continue to be mostly bunched together, but we have a solo leader in the clubhouse through 80 games (it's me, I'm the solo leader in the clubhouse.) Last week I took four of six disputed games from Adam, swept the four disputed with Joe, and Adam took four of six from Joe. The result is me sitting a game up on the nearest people, though Adam is right with us just a couple games out of first.

You can view how we've all picked in relation to each other here. We've improved slightly on consensus picks, while hero games are still going strong at 20-10 combined through five weeks. Adam also went ahead and broke down how we've all done with regards to picking against the spread both at home and on the road, as well as our records by time slot.

So as we now look ahead at the coming week and its four byes, Adam and I disagree on five games out of 14, Joe and I on four, and Adam and Joe on three. Let's get to it!

2022 COAS Pigskin Pick 'Em: Week 5

As we near the quarter pole of the 2022 NFL season, the coalition returns to work for Week 5!

It's been a rough go for most of us looking at overall records, but we're all pretty much bunched together through four weeks. Adam's Week 4 strategy of picking mostly home teams, then saying screw it and changing the few road teams he picked to home teams and embracing the gimmick worked all right as he took six of nine disputed games from me, splitting his ten with Joe, while Joe swept his three disputed with me. The result is a three-way tie in the column, with all of us sitting two games off the group lead.

You can view how we've all picked in relation to each other here. The big trend continues to be how bad we are when we all agree, as we've gone 4-10 on consensus picks. Hero picks have come back down to earth a little bit (mostly because of Adam), but we're still a combined 15-7 on hero picks, which is really good. I'm still pending the home/road and time slot breakdowns.

This week as we get set for another 16 game slate, Adam and I disagree on six games, Joe and I on four, and Adam and Joe on six. Let's get to it!
