2016 COAS Pigskin Pick 'Em: Week 11

The coalition is chugging along, and I'm continuing to move on up!

It was a reasonably strong week all around, but we have a new leader in the clubhouse: Logan took over first place after a strong week last week. Meanwhile, I took four of five disputed games from Adam. He still holds a one game lead over me, but he's out of the top spot now. We're all still fairly bunched up at this stage, though.

I have a Google sheet with updated standings through last week with a breakdown of how we're picking in relation to each other. I now have the best hero pick percentage, but out of three games, you can scream "SMALL SAMPLE SIZE!" at me. I can take it.

This week, Adam and I disagree on five games out of 14 again. With a chance to tie or overtake him, and possibly go grab first place, let's get to the picks!

Thursday Night

New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers (-3.5)
Lucas: Saints. Dude was out of bounds.
Adam: Saints. A pretty good Thursday Night match-up for this point in the season. Carolina has come on of late, but I think this is going to get into a fire fight. Assuming that is correct, I like Brees even on the road over Newton.

Sunday, Early Afternoon

Buffalo Bills @ Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5)
Lucas: Bengals. I underestimated you, Andy Dalton. You did well in primetime. I'll lay the points on you at home.
Adam: Bills. With McCoy back to old form I don't see any way that this game does not go squarely to the Bills.

Chicago Bears @ New York Giants (-7.5)
Lucas: Giants. I know this is Adam's limit with picking against the Bears, but with Alshon Jeffery suspended and Jay Cutler back to being Jay Cutler, the only thing that could stop the Giants is Eli being Eli. Difference is, he's got his go-to receiver.
Adam: Giants. F***. Even I cannot justify the Bears at any line... Cutler sucks, Jeffery was selfish and how can you go against OBJ dance moves?

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns (+9.5)
Lucas: Steelers. If Pittsburgh can drop 30 on Dallas, they can beat the Browns by double digits.
Adam: Steelers. How sad... even I have more respect for the Browns than the Bears now... but not in this game.

Baltimore Ravens @ Dallas Cowboys (-7.5)
Lucas: Ravens. Taking the points here. Probably a mistake, but this is a pretty high line for my taste.
Adam: Ravens. Going for a back door cover here. I see Dallas being up for much if not all of this game. Just hoping for some last minute heroics.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Detroit Lions (-6.5)
Lucas: Lions. Ladies and gentlemen: this man is leading the NFC North. The apocalypse is upon us.
Adam: Jaguars. Tough line in my opinion. 6.5 at home... eh, a little high, but I think the Jags are a little better than that line shows.

Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts (-2.5)
Lucas: Titans. Taking the points, because if the Titans can drop 47 on a terrible Packers defense, they can hang with the Colts, easy.
Adam: Titans. This is going to be a fun game to watch. After the Titans beat up on Green Bay last week, I see none of that offense to slow down this week. Mariota is my late round flyer in my keeper league... looks like that is going to pay off in spades next year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Kansas City Chiefs (-7.5)
Lucas: Chiefs. I was considering taking the points here, and maybe I still should, but Miko Grimes is bat[crap] crazy. Stay away from the bat[crap] crazy, and definitely don't [NSFW reference] in crazy, much less bat[crap] crazy.
Adam: Buccaneers. Don't love this pick, but going with the Evans and Martin angle.
Lucas note: Did I mention Miko Grimes is bat[crap] crazy? I don't think I did.

Arizona Cardinals @ Minnesota Vikings (-0.5)
Lucas: Cardinals. One last time for posterity.
Adam: Cardinals. The pic below explains how the whole Minnesota team is playing right now...

Sunday, Late Afternoon

Miami Dolphins @ Los Angeles Rams (+0.5)
Lucas: Rams. ALL ABOARD THE JARED GOFF BANDWAGON!
Adam: Rams. What took so long... Goff.

New England Patriots @ San Francisco 49ers (+13.5)
Lucas: Patriots. You think Kaepernick is going to kneel because he's playing the Patriots? Or is he going to kneel because Pissed Off Tom Brady is coming?
Adam: Patriots.  Just... so... conflicted. 13.5 points... AHHHHHH - TOUCHDOWN TOMMMMMM!
Lucas note:

Philadelphia Eagles @ Seattle Seahawks (-6.5)
Lucas: Eagles. Seattle appears to have righted the ship (and the no-call on the fourth down pass to Gronk was the right call), but a touchdown might be a tad too much. I'm going to take the points and pray that Carson Wentz (Go Bison) doesn't wilt in the CenturyLink atmosphere.
Adam: Seahawks. Should be a good game. I like the Michaels cut, but it will take a little while for me to trust the new guy.
Lucas note: So how do you feel about Green Bay picking him up...?

Sunday Night

Green Bay Packers @ Washington Redskins (-2.5)
Lucas: Redskins.
Adam: Redskins. Ummm Lucas, can you remind me of the Green Bay score from last week?
Lucas note:

Monday Night

Houston Texans vs Oakland Raiders (-6.5)
Lucas: Texans. Sin ventaja de campo en casa, estoy tomando los puntos. ¿Por qué estamos jugando en México, otra vez? ¿Y por qué todo esto es en español? Me duele la cabeza. Necesito una cerveza. Adam, ¿quieres?
Adam: Raiders. I like nothing about the Texans at this point in the season. And yes, I would like a beer.
Lucas note: Celebramos!

Records So Far
Lucas: 72-75 (8-6 last week)
Adam: 73-74 (5-9 last week)
Scott: 68-79 (5-9 last week)
Grant: 72-75 (6-8 last week)
Logan: 76-71 (8-6 last week)
