2018 COAS Pigskin Pick 'Em: Week 11

The coalition is chugging along as we make our way into the 11th week of the NFL season!

Adam had some redemption last week as he got a few more games right, but I still took three of our five disputed games to up my lead by a little bit over him.

The rest of the group was thrown into some disarray this past week. The top of the standings changed once again as Aiden continues his torrid stretch and finds himself alone in first place for the first time. He has a three game lead on Joe and a four game lead on Kristen, with Jen just six games out. The big drop came from Geoffrey Clark, who tied the record for worst week in contest history only because he forgot to make his picks until the late afternoon slate. He did reach out yesterday to confirm that he made all his picks for this week.

You can view group standings here, bearing in mind that Adam has one more point on ESPN than he should due to an early season picking error. The correct standings, as well as our picks in relation to each other can be found here.

This week, Adam and I disagree on seven games out of 13. He was busy this past week, so his picks are fairly brief. Let's get to it!

Thursday Night

Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks (-2.5)
Lucas: Seahawks. I hate this team. I hate this stadium. I'm already mentally prepared for something stupid to happen that costs Green Bay this game to complete the Bizarro Mount Rushmore with Golden Tate, Lance Easley, and Brandon Bostick. Hit my emo music.
Adam: Packers. Don't see much in this game; just going to take Rodgers over Wilson in this Thursday night tilt.

Sunday, Early Afternoon

Dallas Cowboys @ Atlanta Falcons (-3.5)
Lucas: Cowboys. HOW ARE THE FALCONS FAVORED?! THEY'VE BEEN GARBAGE!
Adam: Falcons. Better quarterback, better receivers. It makes me laugh listening to the Dallas sports talk. They actually think the Cowboys have a legit chance at the playoffs...
Lucas note:

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens (-3.5)
Lucas: Ravens. Nothing cures what ails you quite like getting to play a god-awful defense. Have a day, Flacco/Lamar Jackson.
Adam: Ravens. No real thoughts here, just laying the points at home.

Carolina Panthers @ Detroit Lions (+3.5)
Lucas: Panthers. Carolina isn't going to get 50 dropped on them again, and definitely not by the Lions. I'll err towards overreacting to the Lions.
Adam: Panthers. Seems that McCaffery this season has been quite the beast. I like that trend to continue.
Lucas note: He's been one of the few bright spots on my fantasy team that's been snakebitten pretty much all year.

Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts (-2.5)
Lucas: Titans. Has Vegas not seen what the Titans have been able to pull off the past couple weeks?! Come on.
Adam: Titans. How is a team that just beat the Pats a dog to any team? And the Colts, too! An insult!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New York Giants (-0.5)
Lucas: Giants. Hello Tank Bowl VI.
Lucas note: At publishing time, UrinatingTree hadn't created his Tank Bowl VI video yet. This will serve as the placeholder until the new one comes in. Also, below tweet contains NSFW language.
Adam: Buccaneers. Do you want garbage, or garbage? Seems like I'll take garbage for 500, Alex...

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Jacksonville Jaguars (+5.5)
Lucas: Steelers. I'll go with the Yinzer Revenge Game and hope the Steelers aren't looking ahead to the Pats again, because if they are...
Adam: Steelers. Let the Bell Party start! ...Please hold... (turns head to listen)... What?! No! He wouldn't! Well, ladies and germs, seems Bell is too much of a pretty boy to play in this league...
Lucas note: Well, whatever team pays him a Brinks truck full of money this offseason is going to get a fresh set of legs, if nothing else.

Houston Texans @ Washington Redskins (+2.5)
Lucas: Texans. I'll go with the rested favorite, even on the road.
Adam: Texans. Not much reason. I like Texans here in this spot.

Sunday, Late Afternoon

Denver Broncos @ Los Angeles Chargers (-7.5)
Lucas: Broncos. Now see, I like what the Chargers have done of late, but I feel like this line is a little too high. I think the Chargers win, but the possibility of the back door cover is looming in the back of my head. I can't ignore it.
Adam: Chargers. This is quite a high line, but with the way Gordon has been playing and the resurgence of Old Man Rivers, not sure there are many that can play at their level.

Oakland Raiders @ Arizona Cardinals (-3.5)
Lucas: Raiders. BAH GAWD, THAT'S TANK BOWL VII'S MUSIC!
Lucas note: Again, going with the outdated video with NSFW language until the new one is ready.
Adam: Cardinals. I flew over Oakland this week coming back from my friend's nuptials, and even at about 10,000 feet I could smell the stink...
Lucas note: From the Raiders themselves, or did the sewers back up again?

Philadelphia Eagles @ New Orleans Saints (-8.5)
Lucas: Saints. This was a tough one. I feel like the Eagles should be able to cover this, but they've underachieved all year and I shouldn't bet against Drew Brees at home.
Adam: Eagles. I know many are counting the Eagles out this season, but I think they have one more left in them.

Sunday Night

Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears (-2.5)
Lucas: Vikings. The Bears haven't faced a test since the Pats game a few weeks back, and the Vikings are coming off a bye. But really, we need to get Doc Emrick to come call this game, or at least all of Cody Parkey's kick attempts.
Adam: Bears. This may very well be the second to last tough test for the Bears this year. At home with the NFC offensive player of the week? I'll lay points every time.

Monday Night

Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Rams (-2.5)
Lucas: Rams. I trust LA's defense more than I trust Kansas City's defense. And now that the game is being played in Los Angeles, I'll take the home favorite, thanks.
Adam: Rams. It really comes down to who will have the ball last for me in this. Going to give the nod to the home Rams and the only slightly more experienced quarterback.

Records So Far
Lucas: 67-81 (6-8 last week)
Adam: 55-93 (5-9 last week)
