For the first time since Week 7, I'm back in the group lead after taking four of our five disputed games. Adam had another picking error on ESPN this week... but this time it worked out as he wasn't given a point he should have been given, which means his two mistakes have now evened out and his score there is accurate. I, however, still have one more point on ESPN than I should.
You can view correct standings, in addition to how we've picked in relation to each other, here. There's one again a fairly clear dichotomy in the group, as Adam is right behind me, with Geoffrey Clark in the hunt as well. Joe and Jim would need miracles to catch up at this point.
This week, Adam and I disagree on just four games out of 16. Hopefully we have no postponements that could throw the integrity of this off. Let's get to it!
Thursday Night
New England Patriots @ Los Angeles Rams (-5.5)
Lucas: Patriots. Call it a hunch. New England is on a tear of late, Belichick has already shown he can beat Sean McVay in a chess match, and I'm getting points? Sign me up.
Adam: Patriots. New England played their hearts out last week. Just hope they have enough left here to cover against the Rams.
Sunday, Early Afternoon
Houston Texans @ Chicago Bears (+1.5)
Lucas: Texans. Part of me feels bad for the Bears, given the historic rivalry and the long, rich history of professional football in Chicago. But watching them choke to the Lions- THE LIONS- on Sunday made me giddy. And now we get to follow that up with Ryan Pace F***ed Up Bowl II? Love it.
Adam: Texans. Le sigh. The Sad Brown Pandas are giving up.
Lucas note: That's a good nickname.
Dallas Cowboys @ Cincinnati Bengals (+3.5)
Lucas: Bengals. Screw it, going back to Old Reliable.

Adam: Adam: Cowboys Heiferladies. After some Vontaze Burfict-type stuff the Bengals still managed to play Miami tight last week. Here in a much easier spot is the exact reason they don’t cover.
Denver Broncos @ Carolina Panthers (-3.5)
Lucas: Panthers. Look, if you're in a situation where you have to name a "designated survivor" in your quarterback room...
Adam: Panthers. A hard rebound game after getting spanked and blanked two weeks ago.
Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars (+7.5)
Lucas: Titans. I guess we can call it a revenge game for Tennessee, right? Thank God that this isn't one of those Thursday night Color Rush atrocities at least.
Adam: Titans. A game that ended much closer than it started, the Titans were not able to get much going until the second half. The Jags are a much softer spot, though I am going against my thoughts from last week and not picking the Jags to cover.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Miami Dolphins (+7.5)
Lucas: Dolphins. I don't really want to bet against the Dolphins at home in December. Taking the points.
Adam: Dolphins. The Fins' defense is above average; because of that it will keep this game from getting out of hand and ultimately within a touchdown at the end.
Minnesota Vikings @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6.5)
Lucas: Vikings. Taking the points here too; I don't really trust Tampa right now, Minnesota has been playing better for the past month or two, and I get to take about a touchdown.
Adam: Vikings. This game seems high to be 6.5 in favor of the Bucs. Yes, Brady can do Brady things, but he is but a ghostly shell of himself. I’ll take the points.
Arizona Cardinals @ New York Giants (+2.5)
Lucas: Giants. Honestly, I could go either way here. The Giants (and The Team, too) have turned the NFC East back into something a little more respectable. I'll take the points at home.
Adam: Giants. The G-Men are on their way to the NFC East championship. As I called a few weeks back, the Cards are tough, but New York, hopefully with Jones back, roll over the Cards with no problem.
Sunday, Late Afternoon
Indianapolis Colts @ Las Vegas Raiders (+2.5)
Lucas: Colts. Trusting Indy's defense here against a seemingly up and down Raiders squad.
Adam: Colts. This one is simple: the Raiders have been on a downswing. I’ll take the Colts and Rec Spec Man.
New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks (-13.5)
Lucas: Jets. Now that the Jets got rid of one of their key tank pieces...
Adam: Seahawks. Not sure how yet, but the jets will find a way to make sure the Seahawks cover. Maybe play a zero high where no one goes into covered against a five wide set.Nobody:

Atlanta Falcons @ Los Angeles Chargers (+2.5)
Lucas: Falcons. We should probably have a bunch of doctors on standby, given that this is the Choke Bowl.
Adam: Falcons. Ehhhhh. The Falcons have been all over the map I feel this year, but Herbert and the Chargers have been inconsistent as well.
Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions (+7.5)
Lucas: Packers. I'm just here for the David Bakhtiari memes.
David Bakhtiari bravely risking his life to deliver a message to General John J Pershing in the Western front ww1 (circa 1917) from r/GreenBayPackersAdam: Packers. This line made me consider for a hot second, but the Pack are the much better team here. I don’t think the Lions are even close after the opening kick.
New Orleans Saints @ Philadelphia Eagles (+6.5)
Lucas: Saints. Jalen Hurts should help a bit... but doesn't solve the problem of not having an offensive line.
Adam: Eagles. Originally had the Saints here, but then remembered that Wentz had been benched for OU alum Hurts. Boomer!
Washington Football Team @ San Francisco 49ers (-3.5)
Lucas: Washington. Hold up. The Team comes back from an early 14-0 deficit against the last unbeaten team, beats them, is going to play the Arizona 49ers who are still injured to hell... and I'm getting points?!
Adam: Washington. The “MF” Team. I, for one, will be voting for Alex Smith as the comeback player of the millennium.
Lucas note: They need to rename the award after him, especially after he wins it unanimously this year.
Sunday Night
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills (-2.5)
Lucas: Steelers. I'm gonna wager on Pittsburgh waking up after finally getting burned by playing down to competition. They'll come out ready in this one and win outright.
Adam: Bills. The Steelers smart after their loss and drop another to the Bills and the Mafia.
Monday Night
Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns (+1.5)
Lucas: Ravens. Cycle? Cycle.
Adam: Browns Ravens. *talking to doubters* See, Baker could do it, you don’t know anything... wait, am I now on the Mayfield circle of play? Crap, this week is plays like crap. Ravens.
Records So Far
