2025 COAS Pigskin Pick 'Em: Week 10

The coalition returns as we get ready to make the turn into the second half of the 2025 NFL season, and we have more picks to make.

Adam is back on his BS again... that, or I just had a really bad week. He swept all disputed games with both Joe and I, while Joe swept our two disputed games. As a result I'm now pretty cleanly in last place and hoping for my prophesied Thanksgiving heater coming a couple weeks early so I can get back into things. Adam, with his dominant showing, has now opened up a seven game lead for first place.

You can view how we've all picked in relation to each other here. We continue to do well in consensus games as we hit a bunch later in Week 9. Adam's lead largely stems from, like I said, his usual nonsense in hero picks as he hit on both of his from last week. As a group, we are 17-22 in such games, but just 7-18 if you take Adam out of the equation.

The desperate comeback is going to have to be a gradual one, as Adam and I disagree on just three games this week. Meanwhile Joe and I dispute four, and the two of them differ on half of 14 games. Let's get to it!

Thursday Night

Las Vegas Raiders @ Denver Broncos (-9.5)
Lucas: Broncos. Next.
Adam: Raiders. Purely a feel pick. Vegas was a seller at the deadline and the Broncos have been in some tough fights; I just see this being a trap game. Denver wins, but the Raiders keep it close. Plus, its TNF, anything can happen on TNF.
Joe: Broncos.

Sunday Morning

Atlanta Falcons vs Indianapolis Colts (-5.5)
Lucas: Colts. Haven't made an Indiana Jones joke in a while, and this one kinda fell into my lap.

Adam: Falcons. This has all the makings to be a great game, IF the Falcons show up and Bijan Bijans. I know Indy has Tractor Trailer Taylor but still, a bad Bijan is bad for Atlanta; a bad Taylor is not as impactful on Indy. Call this my upset of the week, I like Atlanta to win outright.
Joe: Colts.

Sunday, Early Afternoon

New York Giants @ Chicago Bears (-3.5)
Lucas: Bears. This is still a flawed Bears team, but the schedule has been favorable and it continues to be here.
Adam: Bears. What a game last week. I stopped tracking the game when it was like 41-27. Who would have thought the final was going to be 47-42? This line feels low so taking the Bears.
Joe: Bears.

Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins (+8.5)
Lucas: Bills. I don't 100 percent know if I should trust the Bills yet, since they just won their Super Bowl, but honestly they probably roll here so they set themselves up for January disappointment.
Adam: Bills. Need I say more?
Lucas note: I have to point out that Adam labeled this game as "Bills @ Mike McDaniel's funeral procession" on his Word doc. So no, Adam, you don't need to say more.
Joe: Bills.

Baltimore Ravens @ Minnesota Vikings (+4.5)
Lucas: Vikings. I still don't trust the Ravens, even with Lamar back and having cooked this past week. Vikings at least keep it close.
Adam: Ravens. This line seems an overreaction to Minnesota beating the Lions in Detroit. But Lamar and Ol’ Man Henry vs JJ McWho and who (no idea who the running back in Minnesota is; Aaron Jones? Maybe). Who cares, Raven by 100.
Lucas note: For reference, Jordan Mason. Jones is questionable as of writing this note.
Joe: Vikings.

Cleveland Browns @ New York Jets (-2.5)
Lucas: Browns.

Adam: Browns. Take me to brown town... ok that’s weird. The Jets just dealt two of their top defensive players, and the Browns D will keep Fields off the field. Wait, is he even starting? No matter, I stand by my pun.
Joe: Browns.

New England Patriots @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2.5)
Lucas: Buccaneers. Should be a fantastic game. I'll take the home team here.
Adam: Buccaneers. Interesting line. I would have expected 4.5-5.5. Semi insulting to Tampa that the line is sub-3. Just makes my Bucs pick easier. Baker gonna Bake all dem TDs.
Joe: Patriots.

New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers (-5.5)
Lucas: Panthers. I hate Carolina at this point, but they'll have no trouble with the Ain'ts.
Adam: Panthers. I can see this being close, maybe one of the better chances for the Saints to surprise, but I just don’t see that happening in 99/100 chances.
Joe: Panthers.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans (-1.5)
Lucas: Jaguars. I just think Jacksonville is the better team.
Adam: Jaguars. Ok I get it, Sunshine ain't Sunshining of late. And Houston has looked serviceable, but with Stroud likely missing the game, I’ll take the Jags.
Joe: Jaguars.

Sunday, Late Afternoon

Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks (-6.5)
Lucas: Seahawks. Joe and I were watching the Cardinals-Cowboys game at my in-laws' house on Monday night, and my wife was sitting next to me. At one point they showed Jacoby Brisset and she thought his nameplate on the back said "Brisket", so he's Jacoby Brisket now. I don't make the rules.
Adam: Seahawks. I know Arizona went out on MNF and beat up the Heiferladies after Jerra talked up a “massive” trade that ended up being a linebacker for a 7th... but Seattle is just too good even with an aging Geno Geno the Showbiz Machine-o out there.
Adam note: For the record with Dallas on bye, I have to get some hits in on them. Also I know they then announced the next day acquiring Quintin Willinams... but still.

Lucas note: Any potshot at Jerrah/the Heiferladies is justified. Carry on.

Joe: Cardinals.

Los Angeles Rams @ San Francisco 49ers (+3.5)
Lucas: Rams. This probably would have been a good game a month or two ago. Now, LA rolls.
Adam: Rams. Seems like the obvious pick here, but I have been surprised by the 9ers when I thought they were out so maybe I am not giving them enough credits. Throw the pretzels!
Lucas note: That's a deep cut. And yes, this was from a Rams-Niners game a few years back (image via TMZ):

Joe: Rams.

Detroit Lions @ Washington Commanders (+8.5)
Lucas: Lions. Northwest Stadium (that's seriously what it's freaking called now?) has to have been built on an Indian burial ground. There's no other explanation for this.
Adam: Lions. A get right game for the knee biters. With Daniels out (arms don’t bend that way), I don’t see how this game isn’t 45-14 or worse.
Joe: Lions.

Sunday Night

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5)
Lucas: Steelers. We're back on schedule. Gahnta.
Adam: Steelers. I hate this pick. I don’t know why, then maybe I should just pick the Chargers... no I see this as a close game that is tied late and won on a field goal. So taking the points on that basis.
Joe: Chargers.

Monday Night

Philadelphia Eagles @ Green Bay Packers (-2.5)
Lucas: Eagles. This team frustrates the bejesus out of me. They'll probably be up for the Eagles, but I could also see Philly pulling more of their Tush Push nonsense as revenge for trying to get it banned in the offseason.
Adam: Eagles. Also hate this pick. Like above, I think it is tied or close late and a field goal will be the decider. Wish it was 3.5 like the Pitt/Chargers game, but I think Philly is more likly to be ahead or with the ball to win.
Joe: Packers.

Records So Far
Lucas: 64-71 (5-9 last week)
Adam: 75-60 (10-4 last week)
Joe: 68-67 (7-7 last week)
Geoffrey: 68-67 (7-7 last week)
Jim: 66-69 (6-8 last week)
Tom: 65-70 (7-7 last week)
